    Hmm. Hard one.

I’ve heard of all the bands mentioned here, but I know little about most of them, and not enough about any of them to pinpoint a year.

I associate Foo Fighters with the late 90s and Paramore with the first decade of the 2000s, but both of these songs I haven’t heard before, so I’m thinking they might both be later works of their respective bands.

I didn’t recognize Beggin’ from the title, but I know I’ve heard it now that I play it. No idea on the year, though.

The only thing I know about Bad Wolves is the cover of Zombie and the story behind it. They changed the line “it’s the same old thing since 1916” to “it’s the same old thing in 2018.” In the music video, he writes a date in that mud-looking stuff, and I could be wrong but I remember it saying “1-15-2018.” I always thought that was Dolores’ death date. Also, I have a fascinatingly creepy story about what I was doing when I heard Dolores died, and that happened during the three-day weekend for the Martin Luther King holiday here in the US, which happens in January. So Dolores died in January 2018, which means the year must be earlier than that if Bad Wolves formed in this year.

O.J. Simpson being released from prison… He didn’t go to prison for the 1994 murders, he was acquitted of those charges (although later found liable in a civil suit). The prison time was for a robbery of sports memorabilia. I remember being on a family road trip in 2017, driving across Nevada and Utah, and Mom saying something about O.J. Simpson being in the news again recently, and us going through the town where he was in prison (the robbery happened in Nevada). And it sticks out in my mind that the reason he was in the news was because he was being released soon, or had just been released from the prison we were driving near.

So I’m going to go with 2017… although something doesn’t feel right about that, bands usually form earlier than the date I associate with them and this means Bad Wolves would have been a very new band when they did Zombie. Also, I didn’t realize Amazon wasn’t in Australia until that recent. But I don’t have anything better. 2017.
