How Do You Support Your Favourite Bands?

There is so many ways that we support bands on this site , but if I am to answer this question purely as a lover of music then this is the ways that I personally do it.

Buy Albums

The sad reality these days is that people are now JUST streaming music. Bands and artists themselves really do not make a lot of money out of these deals. So if I really love a band and know I like the album they have released I will buy a physical copy of it, normally more often than not a vinyl, because it sounds better.

Buy Tickets To Shows

There is nothing worse than nobody turning up to your shows… As long as I can afford it I like to go to as many shows as I can. Sure it’s hard sometimes with a young family but when I can make it work I will go to a show, and sing the hell out of the songs!

IDestroy – Annie (All Rights Are Retained By IDestroy)

Buy Merchandise

This sort of goes hand in hand with the above 2 points really, support your favourite bands by buying their stuff! Not only is it money directly into their pockets but also it turns you into a walking and talking advertising board. As long as you actually like a shirt etc, and you can afford it why not add your favourite bands merch to your wardrobe!

Cam Cole – Mama (All Rights Are Retained By Cam Cole)

Speak About Bands To Friends

This one really is key! I feel that rock fans do not do this enough, which results in just pop being talked about… You find a cool new band bloody well tell people about them.

Florence Black – Bird On A Chain (All Rights Are Retained By Florence Black)

Mostly purchase merchandise, in the case of Bowie, since he’s no longer among us. I try to buy licensed merchandise only so that it supports his estate.

I think that is a really worthwhile thing to do! You loved his music so why give people not associated with him money, makes perfect sense 🙂

I either buy merch or try to see them live. I know they don’t make much off their album sales or streaming, but I do what I can.

I did it all when I was younger, but nowadays it’s not so easy to get to gigs as I have health issues. I’ve still got my CD collection to listen to, and I talk about my music, so that has to do. 😊

Talking about bands is half the battle especially for the smaller bands 🙂

Yep. Word-of-mouth is still a great way to spread the word. 😎
