What Song Instantly Gets Your Air Guitar Out?

It isn’t my favourite guitar solo of all time, but the solo at the end of Dani California by Red Hot Chili Peppers , just does it for me!

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California (All Rights Are Retained By Red Hot Chili Peppers)

It is a great song to start off with, lyrics are crazy cool and memorable. But that closing solo to the song, gets me every damn time. Give it a spin and let me know what you think! Don’t forget to let me know your favourite air guitar song!

I would say that “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC is what gets my air guitar up

I don’t think I ever air guitar. I frequently air drum, especially to immigrant song.

Adrian Belew’s intro (almost 2 minutes) to this live version of David Bowie’s “Stay”–and then his killer solo from 4:40 until the end (3 minutes)–he even has Bowie dancing and playing air guitar:

“Ted the Mechanic” by Deep Purple. Steve Morse on guitar, just shredding the intro and playing a nasty solo. Can’t help but play along. Virtually.

Can’t bear air guitar to deep purple , although I prefer smoke on the water 😛

I worked for a while in a print shop with five other people. We listened to a radio station that played Dani California. When that song came on, everyone knew that when that lead guitar came on at the end, I would turn it up loud, with perfect timing, and play air guitar. But my favorite air guitar song has to be Derringer’s Rock’n’Roll Hootchie Koo.

And for Dani California, you don’t start with the lead guitar. You hae to crank up the volume right before that “whoosh” thing as the solo begins. K-wheechhsh!

Hard to pick one. But ‘Overture’ from 2112 is strong contender.

Air drums to Limelight by Rush. Air(mandolin) to Led Zeppelin’s Battle of Evermore.

How can I choose? I air drum too, to so many tracks, and air saxophone quite a lot. ‘Will you?’ by Hazel O’Connor and the Eurythmics ‘Thorn in My Side’ for the saxophone, while ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ by Led Zeppelin and ‘In the Air Tonight’ by Phil Collins are good for drums. Many Stones numbers are good for me to mimic Keith R, and do you remember ‘Goodbye to Love’ by The Carpenters? There’s a great guitar section in the middle. Enough already – you get my drift. 😎

Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. I get my air guitar out, like Hulk Hogan did when he had the song as his theme music in WCW.
