What Song Do You Wish More People Knew?

This question took me a while to come up with a decent answer, because there is so many amazing songs that don’t get enough love. Or more importantly people don’t know about.

Muse – Uprising (All Rights Are Retained By Muse)

The song starts with this delicious synth like section , when combined with the bass and drums it really hooks you in. It is what I imagine the inside of an alien space ship to sound like… Matt Bellamy’s vocals are fluid throughout the song with different layers of emotion and tone.

Fuzzy bass is a firm part of what makes this song great with inventive guitar work too! Some of the riffs are simplistic, but perfect for the section, and then you have an epic solo too! Lets not forget the amazing lyrics either!

“They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious.”

Let me know what song do you wish more people knew? Comment below!

I didn’t get S& G in my teens, it took a few years but then I loved them, including ‘The Boxer’. I had quite a few of their albums. ‘The Sound of Silence’ is a particular favourite. 😎

Felt/Elizabeth Fraser — Primitive Painters. It’s a gorgeous, lush song that builds as it goes along.

Struggle Jennings – “God We Need You Now” (feat. Caitlynne Curtis)
    Why?
Because it feels like an ancestral anthem, pre-meditated confession and the URGENCY is legit palpable!

There are so many musicians who only have limited regional appeal or fame, although these days its easier to reach around the world. Not going to pick a song but Canadian Donovan Woods definitely needs a shout out. OK, maybe one song:

Nothing wrong with picking an artist 🙂 I think you’re right , it is easier to have widespread reach now , but maybe the reach isnt quite as strong in terms of continued listens due to the amount of music we have now ?

It’s like books, being a writer, I know that it is difficult to attract readers because of all the choices out there.

Difficult, for the reasons you cite. I know I was put off Leonard Cohen in my youth because people said he was so dark – but a friend introduced me to him about 6 years ago and I can’t listen to him enough. I guess I’ve darkened with age. 😎
