This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

Rock
ThxSoMch – Unhinged.
These guys have that real uncaring sound that actually sounds excellent! The drums really are the driving sound in this song for me and that is refreshing. The vocals are different enough to create that interest too.
Special Mention:Young The Giant – Mind Over Matter (In The Open).
Metal
Melrose Avenue – Black Heart ft Ekoh.
For my metal selection this week I am going on the lighter side! Pop-metal band Melrose avenue possess real crossover potential with vocals that are impressive! The little ft on this song is useful for me, with really liking the little bit of rap intertwined with metal and pop elements. Give it a try!
Special Mention: Letters Sent Home – Bloom.
Metalcore
Hopes Avenue – Back To Me.
The best part of any metalcore band/song is always the clean vocals. This band from Scotland deliver it in spades! They actually remind me of Killswitch Engage with Howard Jones. A phrase I do not use often!
Special Mention: Heists – Black.
Punk
Fat Dog – Pray To That.
You want your punk to be in your face and this is exactly that. I also find this band to be rather experimental which keeps my ears interested throughout the song!
Special Mention: Clobber – God Loves, Man Kills.
Pop Punk
WSTR – JOBBO.
Liverpool based band WSTR hit us this week with an acoustic version of JOBBO. And its a version I NEEDED! A real fun listen with a scaled back instrumental is always interesting.
Special Mention: Xanon ft Kellin Quinn – Blinding Lights.
Alternative
The Bankes Brothers – Get To Know.
This is not only a really refreshing tune , but by god does this dude have a cracking voice. The riffs throughout really do it for me too!
Special Mention: Sammyfunk – Cockney Gangster.
Indie
Springtime Carnivore -Two Scars.
I bring to you the most aggressive sounding name for the most laid back sound ever… Springtime Carnivore have this wonderful folk-rock, psychedelia vibe going on. We really dig it! Chances are you will too!
Special Mention: The Thing – Midnight.
