This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Biffy Clyro – True Believer.
These dudes have a tried and tested formula that works! With cracking vocals and a real sense of band harmony. This is a continuation of what I would call their softer era, but of the songs they have released recently this is by far my favourite.
Special Mention: Lola Young – Spiders.
Metal
President- Destroy Me.
Charlie Simpson really is a talented guy! Yes I don’t care if he has not been officially announced as the singer of this band its him. Even with the vocal distortion in their songs. President actually has potentially to be absolutely massive! Their songs are catchy, and I do enjoy the mysterious nature. They are also already selling out shows. Those harsh vocals are immense too!
Special Mention: Primal Fear – I Am The Primal Fear.
Metalcore
Poppy, Amy Lee, Courtney LaPlante – End Of You.
Holy crap! I’ll have to admit before this song I hadn’t heard anything by Poppy but I’ll be sure to be paying attention now. The soft vocals of Amy Lee (Evanescence) in contrast to Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox) is perfection! Poppy lives in the middle ground and adds real depth to it all. Girl Power!
Special Mention: Bodyweb – Shadowboxing.
Punk
State Champs – Common Sense.
I really like the vibe surrounding this song, its got real head nodding ability. Lyrically its surprisingly beautiful too give it a listen!
Special Mention: Winona Fighter – Sabotage.
Pop Punk
Leaving Off – Anxiety.
I will never ever not feature a band because they are new on the scene. This band from Ohio have real breakout potential. I know all about the subject matter so I immediately connected. But the band have managed to build a really well rounded out song for so early in their time together. Bravo!
Special Mention: Around 7 – Ashes.
Alternative
Orca Station – Sylows.
What is better than one breakout band from Ohio? Two! Orca Station have a real familiar tone to them but for the life of me I cannot work out who they sound like. For a two piece they don’t half created a well thought out song too! Enjoy this juicy alt rock song!
Special Mention: Eastern Bleeds – Holy Art.
Indie
Rose Haven Motor Hotel – Head In The Sand.
I don’t really know what to say about Rose Haven Motor Hotel (other than the name is far too long). It is hard to put them in a genre to be honest and I settled for Indie. It’s playful, its fun and more importantly great.
Special Mention: Kaleb Sanders – Left Me At The Bar.
