It’s the time of the week that we highlight one of our favourite new releases. This time its Finish Line by Book Of Beart. Read a little about the song in the band’s own words. Then, listen to it once or fifty times!

Song Background Information

Finish Line is about being in a failing relationship and grappling with the feeling of doing everything you can to repair something but it never seems to be good enough.

This song covers the emotional aspect of what it’s like to go through that in real time. This was inspired by a relationship that I wasn’t a part of but I was very close to. I watched how it tore two people apart but I also saw the good and their brighter moments too.

So I wrote it from “the significant other’s” perspective instead of my own based on things I’ve seen or things “this person” had told me. Also this song kind of wrote itself and was a sort of therapeutic exercise for myself and how their relationship affected me in a lot of ways as well.
