It’s hard for me to say which band I prefer because I love them both for different reasons. I do think this version of Easy really shows the dynamic range of Faith No More, but the Queens of the Stone Age song is a really rockin’ take on emotional detachment.

Yeah I do make these harsh to choose intentionally haha! 🙂

I liked your comment about the range of FNM as they are very experimental in their style i find.

I’m biased. I have to pick “Go With The Flow”. QOTSA my all-time favorite band 🙂 !!

This is a tough one. I like QOTSA a lot, and respect them even more. They’ve produced more top albums than FNM, I think, and have bothered the charts more than their rivals.

But my vote is for Faith No More, and always will be. Abrasive, contrary, ridiculous, sublime and so, so unpredictable – for me their peak is Angel Dust, but every era has wonders. We Care A Lot is fantastic, and Album of the Year has Stripsearch. My favourite track is King for a Day (“… don’t let me die with that silly look in my eye…”).

This sort of question is always going to be personal and, put simply, Faith No More means more to me than Queens do. I’d also say that Mike Patton is the better vocalist – in fact, one of the best vocalists in rock. He doesn’t just sing but inhabits songs like few other people. KfaD is a difficult listen, but the range of characters Patton portrays is amazing

That is oddly enough my favourite track by them too! 🙂

I think Josh is the better vocalist, but this is why this question is so fun 🙂

Indeed. Nothing against Josh’s voice but I think Mike is one of the best vocalists around because he’s a different person in each song.

A question back for you: QOTSA or Them Crooked Vultures?

QOTSA by a landslide for me

I think you’d have to go with QOTSA for their complete body of work, but I think I’d choose TCV in a one-album shootout

Oh really ! That is interesting , why do you think that is ?

Hmm. Not sure, really. I think it’s just that music is very personal and TCV seem to click with me in a way that Lullabies to Paralyze, say, hasn’t.

Music is weird. And so, sir, am I

Going with Faith No More on this one though I am more of a QOTSA fan. Queens have great music but I don’t think they have anywhere near Faith’s depth of musicality.
