This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Skindred ft Jacoby Shaddix – Warning.
I love the way that Skindred’s signature style meshes so well with Jacoby here! I am a huge fan of Papa Roach, and while I can’t confess to be the biggest Skindred fan I also enjoy some of their songs. But this is a straight up home run.
Metal
Chrissy Constanza – Weather.
While Chrissy might be the frontwoman for Against The Current, I think it is safe to say she has a cracking chance to make it as a solo artist… I found this song to be catchy and flow really well. The heavy riffs really blend nicely with her voice!
Metalcore
Trivium – Bury Me With My Screams.
It is always a good day when we get new Trivium. Bury Me With My Screams sits on the heavier side of things for the band almost like their first album! If the continue down this route I would be VERY happy. That being said I am glad they still have that melodic edge to it too, it can’t all be bang and crash.
Punk
As December Falls – Flametide.
A local band to us here at Fox Reviews Rock, yet I have personally never seen them live. Although I know St Jimmy and Rex have. I feel this is much more punky that their typical song and it is a value I am enjoying. I am as many will know a sucker for female vocals so this was always going to score well with me.
Pop Punk
Sunday Morning – Your Parallel.
I like the aggressive nature of the soft vocals. While that makes zero sense if you don’t listen to the song just trust me ok? This song flows really well and there is this riff flowing in the background that is epic!
Alternative
Big Wreck – Dog With A Gun.
This might bring to mind funny images! But the music is even better. The in your face pace of the song is superb. With subtle vocals throughout, it guides you to this chorus that is forced through this lens that is brilliant.
Indie
Portugal. The Man – Angoon.
It appears the band have stopped imitating classic old school songs and added this individual flair to their music! I like the acoustic guitar and the soft nature of the vocals even when we get to the chorus. This is strong.
