A-Z Of Rock: K Part 1

Welcome to our weekly alphabet themed rock post! In this post we will talk about a specific letter of the alphabet and associate it with all things rock music!

This will include a band with that letter, a song as well as a rocker. There is an accompanying playlist so that the selected songs can be enjoyed! Click the Spotify link below and remember to save it!

Band

I want to put this out there. I am a MASSIVE KISS fan! Like seriously I have cosplayed as members many times. This is probably their second most popular song, not my personal favourite but I felt it would fit this playlist the best. I was lucky enough to see the band twice, and honestly the 1st time was great.

KISS – Rock And Roll All Nite (All Rights Are Retained By KISS)

Song

I found the Motley Crue movie to be absolutely amazing. It was the reason why I really started listening to the band. While I would not see them now due to the vocalist sounding poor these days, it doesn’t stop me from enjoying the songs!

Motley Crue – Kickstart My Heart (All Rights Are Retained By Motley Crue)

Rocker

I feel that Kurt Cobain was the obvious and best choice here! Nirvana as a whole I feel while at the time were in the spotlight have somewhat fell to the way side these days. I am saving their best song (which reportedly Kurt hated) to a later segment but I really do love this one!

Nirvana – Lithium (All Rights Are Retained By Nirvana)

Did you really enjoy a Band/Song/Rocker in this post? Let us know in the comments!

i would say that a special mention should be made of Kerrang magazine here. I suspect a lot of ‘proper’ metallers might scoff – it is (or was, at least – I haven’t owned a copy since 1998) geared towards the younger/more fashionable /’poppier’ end of the market. But still it’s been incredibly influencial and long-lasting, and introduced me to a world of music I barely knew existed

Absolutely! I guess if I ever do an article on the resources that ever inspired me growing up then magazines like Kerrang! as well as their tv station, Scuzz for that matter too 🙂

Cobain has so much talent – one of those people who simply amazed me with their creativity – but he sadly couldn’t balance that with the demons in his head. I think that, if he’d continued on, he’d still be writing fantastic music today.

I think now of what Nirvana could have become and honestly I still think they would have been at the top.

Kiss are incredible, I saw them a couple of years ago in Manchester on one of their end of the road tours, I am sure they have had another 2 or 3 tours since then though 😂

Have you even seen KISS if you have not got the facepaint on?

This is true, unfortunately I did not, but will be going as Kiss to my next Halloween party!
