For me, Smashing Pumpkins (especially Mellon Collie and earlier)…hands down.

That is a great album to be fair , but I still edge DT way!

I would rather shut the music off altogether rather than listen to the Smashing Pumpkins. I hear they are supposed to be good. Dream Theater — the early years, especially. Pull Me Under, Blind Faith, Hollow Years. Take Away My Pain. No offense to Billy Corgan. He seems like a cool guy during interviews.

I don’t like the vocals. I listen to a lot of music. All kinds. 10 hours a day, Jazz, rock, metal, classical. There is just too much to choose from. Everyone has a few singers they just cannot listen to. For me, that’s Billy Corgan and David Byrne.

Smashing Pumpkins – the sound in our car in the 90’s whenever our sons were driving.

To me.. one of the greatest albums from the 90’s was Siamese Dreams… and still today is one of my favorites.. I was actually listening to it earlier today.. Mayonnaise.. is one of my favorite songs.. to me.. none of their other albums even come close… not a huge fan of their other ones..

Dream Theater. Every band member is an amazing musician and their music is both melodic and incredibly complicated (which I respect).

Smashing Pumpkins all the way, baby! 😛 They are a hometown band that I grew up listening to and still do. I was like 15 when Mellon Collie came out and I’ve been with’em ever since! Dream Theater is new to me (how?) but I like their sound
