What Is The Best Song By Oasis

Fox’s Recommendations

Sitting somewhere between 90’s Britpop and emotion, this acoustic masterpiece is instantly recognisable. With Liam’s raw vocals adding tension to the lyrics written by Noel. The song really bridged the gap between alternative music and mainstream, and has become one of the most streamed songs from the era. For good reason!

Oasis – Wonderwall (All Rights Are Retained By Oasis)

A song that is just as likely to be played at a wedding as it is a funeral! It balances melody and meaning wrapped up in the bands signature style. A piano ballad is likely not the first thing you think of when you think of Oasis but it adds to the emotional weight of the track.

Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger (All Rights Are Retained By Oasis)

Fox’s Wildcard

Can you believe this naughty little track was once the B side to Wonderwall! This song at its core feels like it is meant to be in the cinema! With its orchestral strings and intricate guitar playing. This is a wildcard purely for the fact that it got barely any radio time. The fact this was a B side is a crime.

I love pretty much all songs of theirs. But „wonderwall“ and „don’t look back in anger“ are my top faves!!

The one they never wrote, perhaps.

They’re all great representations of the swelling signature sound of Oasis. If I had to choose, it would be “Wonderwall.” I know it was played to death on alt music radio, much like “Cars” by Gary Numan on top 40 (c’mon guys, he’s done MUCH more than that tired old song….), but it’s truly an anthemic representation of 90’s music.

Thank you for the introduction to “Masterplan.” Don’t recall that one, but it fits so well into their style.

Wonder wall is head and shoulders above the rest for me tbh. But I’m glad you liked masterplan!

I only know a few Oasis songs, the really big hits, but I always liked Champagne Supernova. I like both of these too, though.

Oooh, good question! I’m a big Oasis fan and your picks are awesome. But for me, it’s a toss up between Champagne Supernova and Cigarettes & Alcohol. They sound so wildly different but they both get a lot of replay from me.

This is one of those bands that just completely missed me. Wonderwall actually annoys me and that is very, very rare 😂
