Judging By The Cover: Vol – 13

This is the series where we give you an abstract description of some of the most famous rock and metal album’s art! See the description below and try to see if you can figure out what we are describing… Let us know what it is in the comments!

Album Art Description

A black background frames a single prism struck by a beam of white light. On the other side, the light bursts into a rainbow spectrum. The design is clean, scientific, and iconic. It feels like sound turned into geometry.

That great classic Dark Side of the Moon, designed by Storm Thorgerson and George Hardie. Fabulous

    Iconic!

Legend has it that the design was based on a noose that a stagehand used to kill himself on the set of The Wizard of Oz, with which the album can act as a soundtrack. Not true, of course, but good story nevertheless

Wow what a tale that would be if it had been true!

The link with WoO is pretty solid: there’s loads of stuff ont’ net about it – just when to put the album on and so on. Money links with the Yellow Brick Road etc (you know WoO is about capitalism, right?).

Only problem is that the band says it’s coincidence. I keep meaning to try but I only have the live CD of Pulse and I’ve no idea if that syncs
