It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.
Band Background
The Brighton based band Slung mixes heavy rock riffs with psych and alt rock influences. Don’t forget the moody atmosphere and real expressive vocals. We were lucky enough to interview slung pre album release so check that out for all the inner gossip!
What’s Good About This Album
They have found the perfect balance between being intense yet at the same time vulnerable. There is a real journey from moody moments to massive riff tracks. The fact they don’t stick to one formula is what keeps the listeners experience interesting! Probably what attracted Dingir Zu to them in the first place.
Favourite Tracks
A real ribcage rattler to start the album off, with huge drums and raw vocals to boot. Looking at complex family dynamics the lyrics give this track strength in depth. That first vocal scream is as powerful as it is impactful. “Yeah!”
This is far more melancholic and atmospheric but the bass heavy sound is still there. The psych rock vibe has been turned up a notch or three. The layering is really quite impressive, showcasing that the band are far more than just another rock band.
