Albums Of The Year 2025 – 21 – Halestorm – Everest

Fox Reviews Rock - Albums Of The Year 2025

It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.

Band Background

Founded in 1997 Halestorm have been bringing only the finest hard rock since then! Known for their energetic live shows and songs that are filled with defiance and power.

What’s Good About This Album

It appears to be a change in direction towards the more emotional side with raw lyrics. With themes including identity and recovery. It has all the hard riffs and amazing vocals that the band are known for too. This is their most ambitious record in many a year.

Favourite Tracks

This is a slow burner, I had to listen to it a couple of times to get it. But once it clicked there was no going back. It has a slower start before dramatically changing by the end of the song into this fist pumping anthem. I would love to see this one live as Lzzy’s vocals create this urgency and expression that pair amazingly well with the guitar.

Halestorm – Darkness Always Wins (All Rights Are Retained By Halestorm)

Reflecting on ambition, struggles wrapped up in a melancholic bow Everest is the hive mind of emotion for the album. This feels like a way for the band to show the hardships they have had, but almost to show that it has brought them to this point.

I recently saw Halestorm in concert where they sung a whole bunch of songs from Everest. I think my current favourite song is Like a Woman Can.
