Albums Of The Year 2025 – 18 – The Blue Stones – Metro

Fox Reviews Rock - Albums Of The Year 2025

It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.

Band Background

Canadian based duo The Blue Stones sure as hell do not sound like it is just the two of them! Blending rock, blues and hip hop they create this melodic fuzzy sound. If you like Royal Blood immediately go and listen to their music! Their music feels raw but in all the right ways.

What’s Good About This Album

Other than being released on the best day of the entire calendar this is easily the bands most ambitious album yet. It has heavier tones than their previous outings with more distortion and heavy riffs. Yet somehow it still never loses that blues like feel.

Favourite Tracks

With its immediate groovy riff this was always going to be a hit. Pounding drums and a vocal flow that is more hip hip than rock at times it still somehow works for me. This song is also an indie anthem and something everyone should give a go to see if it is for them. Chorus is damn catchy too!

The Blue Stones – Come Apart (All Rights Are Retained By The Blue Stones)

This leans heavily on the fuzz! Which if you haven’t got already I LOVE. To accompany the distorted guitars that act as an undertone throughout is this vocal style that feels polished yet raw. This feels rebellious and powerful with it too.

Brilliant write-up! You captured the raw grit and groove of The Blue Stones perfectly—heavy, fuzzy, rebellious, yet never losing that bluesy soul. This album breakdown makes me want to hit play all over again.

The Blue Stones are from my hometown–Canada’s motor city. Windsor!

        Tease.

Billy Raffoul (and his dad Joey)

Kelly ‘Mr. Chill’Hoppe (of Big Sugar)

Garth Hudson of the legendary The Band was born here but his family moved when he was a young kid. Same with Shania Twain.
