Band

With theatrical performances, genre-bending sound and obviously Freddie’s amazing voice. Queen’s sound ranges from hard rock to operatic pop, both of which they did to perfection.

Queen – Who Wants To Live Forever (All Rights Are Retained By Queen)

Song

This song blends the aggressive metal riffs that the band are usually known for and unexpected melodic turns. The tempo shifts in particular are a nod to their experimental spirit.

System Of A Down – Question! (All Rights Are Retained By System Of A Down)

Rocker

Quinn Allman, Guitarist and founding member of The Used helped to shape the post hardcore sound of the band. With his emotional playlist style and song writing abilities being key to their success. He however did leave the band in 2015.

The Used – The Bird And The Worm (All Rights Are Retained By The Used)

To me, Queen was one of those once-in-a-lifetime bands. Their sound was so unique, a mix of glam rock, opera, and pop, and every member (if I’m not mistaken) wrote at least one hit. And Freddy, well, I don’t think we’ll ever see a frontman like him again.

Great choice of Queen song. They’re known mainly for their more up tempo stuff, but I love this one. Alongside Radio Ga Ga, which reminds me of Now 2 (I know people don’t tend to rate compilations like the Now series, but Now 2 was the first one I bought, on cassette, and hearing it still brings back my early teenage years), Who wants to live forever is my favourite Queen song.
