    Ah it’s like you read my mind! I am on a trip down memory lane tonight, lots of old school metal. I’m in guitar riff heaven.

    Hands down the Rolling Stones, Paint it, Black. It’s just brilliant, heavily Beatles influenced, and an absolute classic.

    Sound of Silence is an really beautiful song, but it’s a cover. And Disturbed reduce me to a mess of tearful goosebumps when I hear that guy singing it, it still doesn’t touch the original for me.

    It’s actually one of the first tunes I learned on my accoustic guitar back when I was all of 11 years old.

    But … that voice … ufff 🙂

      This is going to be controversial but I prefer Disturbed haha

      And I also think this cover is better than the original 😉

      That being said I can see why people love Rolling Stones 🙂

    I’d have gone for the Stones even if you hadn’t played that abomination of a Disturbed track!

      I agree about the Stones but my vote’s shaded by nostalgia. Disturbed took a very emotional ,dark, artistic take on Sound of Silence but, in my opinion, the rest pf their work doesn’t have what it takes back that up.

        That was the first thing by The Disturbed that I had heard. And it put me off them for life! If their singer could actually sing it might help!

        Yeah I don’t disagree on the note about the rest of the songs by Disturbed but this cover is chef’s kiss.

    TOUGH CHOICE! Both are great songs in their own right. I guess I would have to say it depends on my mood at the time. Disturbed does a great job with Sound of Silence.

    I’ve been a fan of Disturbed since they came out. Stones have some songs I like but they are more my mom’s fav.

      I think that is the way most people are going, but I like that people are at least putting respect on Disturbed

    The Stones. This was from the first of their albums I bought with money saved from hard-earned allowance and the beginning of a love affair with the group that would last to infinity.

    Of course for me, The Rolling Stones, and how my mom suffered when I was in my teens. Something went wrong, my heart broke, and I went home to Mom’s little apartment, dug out my copy of The Last Time by the Rolling Stones, and blasted it because, for me, whatever happened, I swore it was the last time. Poor mom would come to the door of the bedroom with a pained expression, her ears ringing and just ask “What haqppened this time?”
