This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Papa Roach – Wake Up Calling
Papa Roach might be known for their heavier and faster hits, but I have always found them at their most honest when they tone things down! This is one of those occasions, with goosebump worthy lyrics and vocals. This might surprise a few of you!
Metal
Skindred – This Is The Sound
I love the metal stylings here with the Reggae vocals, this just makes Skindred completely different to any other band to me. It just works! This song in particular is really catchy, this would get me moving live!
Metalcore
Motionless In White – Afraid Of The Dark
As far as Motionless In White songs go this is on the heavier side. Which intrigued me enough to include it. Massive riffs and drums is the tale behind this one. The harsh vocals dominate the proceedings too before making way for the more prototype melodic edge in the chorus.
Punk
Unpolished* – Feet Pics
Friends of the site Unpolished have released another banger! Having previously had a song reviewed by us and another being our song of the week we LOVE these girls. This song has a cheeky edge to it, pure punk energy and strangely this harsher vocal out of nowhere I was not expecting!
Pop Punk
Dogpark – Dandelion
This has a really nice relaxed feel about it, like sipping a cocktail while relaxing on a beach. The vocals are absolutely beautiful especially those high notes. When the chorus comes in the instruments combined together to really carry it through too. A band I am not familiar with , but will be keeping an eye on.
Alternative
Marmozets – New York
Ok at this point it should be no secret I LOVE Marmozets (The Animal too)! This is the 3rd single from the just announced new album and boy am I excited. This one is more what I expect from the band while the other 2 singles have added unexpected flairs. I really like the playful nature of the vocals here, and the driving rhythm.
Indie
Franz Ferdinand – U Should Not Be Doing That
Who does not like a little bit of Franz Ferdinand?! It’s got that laid back Indie style that just keeps me coming back time and time again. With witty sophistication this song is a fun one.
