    What a tough one! This is like apples versus oranges.

    I love both bands, but I probably would prefer Genesis over Jane’s Addiction. They just seemed a little more prolific at this point. And this is coming from a guy who doesn’t even listen to any of the old Peter Gabriel Genesis stuff.

    I think it depends on which phase of Genesis we’re talking about. Peter Gabriel era wins hands down. Phil Collins era loses by a mile.

    I think someone above expressed a similar opinion to the one I’m about to give. Genesis, always, but Peter Gabriel era far outshone Phil Collins. Even so, I enjoy both. I must brag that I saw The Lamb in Baltimore when I was in high school. I was dumbfounded. What an amazing album and show.
