What Is The Best Song By Ramones

From the ashes of the weekly song poll rises “What Is The Best Song By”. A very similar segment where I want to know what your favourite song(s) by the selected artist is! You can let us know in the comments!

The best thing is that if you don’t know the artist then you can see both our recommendations as well as those by other people.

Fox’s Recommendations

This perfectly captures the bands sound, short, fast and infectious! The iconic “Hey Ho Let’s Go!” is instantly recognisable, and sums up their no frills style of punk. It’s simple loud and unforgettable.

Ramones – Blitzkrieg Bop (All Rights Are Retained By Ramones)

This one has a little bit more personality and humour. The repetitive riff captures frustration and chaotic energy at the same time. It is one of those songs that sneaks into your head and lives there rent free. It’s still quick but with a playful edge.

Ramones – I Wanna Be Sedated (All Rights Are Retained By Ramones)

Fox’s Wildcard

Another that leans into their fun side. An almost surf-rock feel is buried under the distortion. That for me makes it stand out!

Ramones – Sheena Is A Punk Rocker (All Rights Are Retained By Ramones)

For me, their best composition is ‘Bonzo Goes to Bitburg’. The Ramones aren’t typically renowned for being overly political (in fact, they had starkly differing political views); and that song is both a poetically scathing rebuke of U.S. conservatism, as well as one of their most melodic and memorable tunes.
