Under The Radar – Socialites

Less than 1,000 monthly listeners. More than 1,000 reasons to listen.

How did you come up with the bands name?

We went through loads of names and couldn’t decide until we heard socialites in a song and loved it as band name!

Where are you from?

We come from a one of the most northern towns on mainland Scotland – Wick!

What genre would you class your music as?

Most of our songs fit into the indie rock genre

For Fans Of?

We have a heavy guitar driven sound and powerful female vocals which draws similarities to bands like Wolf Alice and Mysterines, while we also take inspiration from Sam Fender!

Where can people connect with you?

What is your latest release?

Our latest single is called “Achilles” – the song is based on the Greek myth. The story talks about a love that transcends everything in that you could find your other half even if you were “dumb, deaf or blind” and could find that someone in “another life”.

Listeners should start listening to “Achilles” as this is the song we are most proud of! We have had so much positivity around the release of the tune and we love playing it to crowds as it’s such a good feeling seeing your songs being sung back!

What other songs you would recommend to new listeners?

Our first release was “Resolve” which we still love – it was our first release as a band and we learned so much from recording it which opened so many doors for us as band! This song is about being in a relationship that doesn’t quite work and realising that your personalities don’t fit together.

When can we expect some new music?

We are currently recording two new songs “Digital age” and “It’s probably too late” which we hope to have released by the end of the year, with hopefully even more on the way as we have a catalogue of tunes ready.

Who would be your dream collaboration?

Our dream collaboration would be with Sam Fender as all of us love his tunes and have gone to his gigs – Angel in lothian and Howden Aldi death queue are top tier! We also think Ionas voice would harmonise with his so well.

What is the bands goal for the next 12 months?

Our goal for the next year is to release our next two tunes, get more recorded and work towards releasing an EP or even an album! We also aim to play gigs further south including more festivals as we had an unreal time playing Belladrum last year!

What is your message to new listeners?

If we could say anything to new listeners it would be just to keep an eye out as we have loads more to come; we only feel like we are growing as a band more and more and can’t wait for you all to hear what we’ve been working on!
