This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Papa Roach – See U In Hell.
Papa Roach just know how to craft tunes! With the singing parts of this track genuinely being some of the best I have heard from them in a while. The rap section is handled by Hanumankind whom I have never heard of before but he does a great job!
Metal
I C RED – 2FU2C.
It is not often you get so much electronic effect on a straight up metal song, normally that is reserved for metalcore alone. This works really well here and a special mention to the vocals too which are incredible.
Metalcore
Hopes Avenue – Misty Eyes.
We reviewed a song by Hopes Avenue previously and really digged it. For those who have not heard songs by the Scottish band before watch out for the soaring melodic vocals combined with harsh screams. I think the riffs are really damn great here too!
Punk
Dolly Min – Plug It In.
Fast. Fun. Punk. What is there not to like about this?! I really enjoy female vocals especially in punk songs so this was always going to make the hairs stand up on my arms! My friend Sam will like this , hey Sam!
Pop Punk
Movements – Dissolve Me.
There might be some people who do not like that I counted this in my Pop Punk category, to those I will fight you. It’s pop punk with lashings of emo added on top. That upbeat tempo with the downbeat emo lyric style.
Alternative
Summer’s Brother – Solid Ground.
This is pretty unique! It’s pop like, indie in places and a smothering of psych rock. You wont have heard a song like this before. But you might be checking them out moving forward.
Indie
Forget Them Wendy – Plug It In.
I adore the fuzzy bass on this track, combined with the vocals! It creates this effect that I would say isn’t all that common and you are going to love it too!
Fox’s Ranking
1st Place: Forget Them Wendy
2nd Place: Dolly Min
3rd Place: Papa Roach
4th Place: Hopes Avenue
5th Place: Movements
6th Place: Summer’s Brother
7th Place: I C RED
