Fox’s Recommendations

If you want a showcase piece of melodic alt rock then this is it. A touch of country comes in with the guitar riff but it has this thick driving bass too! Weiland’s vocals tell us all about being betrayed, addicted and a relationship breakdown. Despite being alt rock there is real pop inspiration to this one I feel.

A breakthrough hit back in 1993 and is a bit of a grunge era anthem! A dynamic rhythm section, abstract lyrics about a true crime to boot. It explores loss and regret. Just a fantastic song!

Fox’s Wildcard

This was the bands debut single and is slightly more aggressive than some of their other songs. Perhaps a bit more hard rock like too. The song acts as an anti-date-rape piece and condemns toxic masculinity from the perspective of the abuser. Mental to wrap your head around but it works.
