This is “From The Archives” a feature where we take a trip back to a previous decade and discuss an album! We will talk about highlight tracks that should not be missed. As well as reasons why we think the album was so influential and successful.
The Album Breakdown
In 1967 Surrealistic Pillow captured the psych movement that was growing at some pace! It blended together folk, rock and experimental sounds. They created one of the defining albums of the summer of love.
Grace Slick arrived on the scene to give the band a stronger and more distinctive voice. It elevated the songs beyond other bands at the time. Today the album remains a cornerstone release in psych rock.
