A-Z Of Rock: Q Part 2

Welcome to our weekly alphabet themed rock post! In this post we will talk about a specific letter of the alphabet and associate it with all things rock music!

This will include a band with that letter, a song as well as a rocker. There is an accompanying playlist so that the selected songs can be enjoyed! Click the Spotify link below and remember to save it!

Band

The lead song from their biggest album Songs for the Deaf highlights the best of Queens Of The Stone Age. Josh Homme’s guitar riffs, vocals steal the show. But the guest drummer Dave Grohl gives a relentless performance on the drums.

Queens Of The Stone Age – No One Knows (All Rights Are Retained By Queens Of The Stone Age)

Song

From the 1971 album Hunky Dory the acoustic song looks at Bowies confusion with philosophical matters and self-doubt. It has multiple guitars layered over each other and creates a wall of sound.

David Bowie – Quicksand (All Rights Are Retained By David Bowie)

Rocker

Written by Quorthon the 1988 track is the opening hit on Blood Fire Death. With a haunting acoustic intro, before a menacing anthem explodes. Viking metal was born here.

Bathory – A Fine Day To Die (All Rights Are Retained By Bathory)

Bowie’s 1970s output was stellar as he evolved through his personas. This is a great album.
