What’s A Place You Visited That Felt Like Home?

What’s a place you visited that felt like home?

Ah well this is an easy one for me! A mere 7 miles from my actual home is Donnington race circuit which also happens to be the location for Download Festival. My yearly main festival!

I have been returning yearly (pretty much) since 2013 and each year it is genuinely lovely to be surrounded by thousands of like minded souls. We don’t even have to like the same bands, but knowing we are on a wavelength is wonderful.

Where have you visited that feels like home?

Having lived in many countries over my career, this could be difficult, but when I think of my motorsport exploits, there’s only one place. Spa-Francorchamps. A circuit where I’ve completed more laps than any other. When I raced there I stayed at a fabulous guest house with an excellent restaurant. The owners knew us and always kept a room for me. Also the race organiser always provided a welcome. I’d go back tomorrow but now I’ve retired and due to recent medical issues, I doubt I will ever return. Happy memories remain though.
