What’s A Place You Visited That Felt Like Home?

What’s a place you visited that felt like home?

Ah well this is an easy one for me! A mere 7 miles from my actual home is Donnington race circuit which also happens to be the location for Download Festival. My yearly main festival!

I have been returning yearly (pretty much) since 2013 and each year it is genuinely lovely to be surrounded by thousands of like minded souls. We don’t even have to like the same bands, but knowing we are on a wavelength is wonderful.

Where have you visited that feels like home?

Having lived in many countries over my career, this could be difficult, but when I think of my motorsport exploits, there’s only one place. Spa-Francorchamps. A circuit where I’ve completed more laps than any other. When I raced there I stayed at a fabulous guest house with an excellent restaurant. The owners knew us and always kept a room for me. Also the race organiser always provided a welcome. I’d go back tomorrow but now I’ve retired and due to recent medical issues, I doubt I will ever return. Happy memories remain though.

I actually went there for the f1 a couple years back, breathtakingly beautiful!

I moved around quite a bit in my youth, so I never really felt grounded anywhere. But there have been times when I visited a place – usually near water – that has a certain quality about it. Something in the air, or maybe it’s the vibe of the people, but I end up feeling very ‘at-home’ and relaxed.

Toronto, Ontario Canada. I was driving up to visit friends from the Canadian music scene twice a year, but it doesn’t look like I’ll make my second trip this year due to health issues. My goal is to get back up there next April after the winter snows are over. When I see the CN Tower on my way into the city, it fills my heart with joy–I am truly home.

I think like a lot of people places feel like home because of the people you are with. I think I feel most a peace in the mountains and the woods.

Corsica , France. During xmas, it was the home of my brother-inlaw, her mother made squisite cuisine, delicious dessers, good wine, Cozy place, also his grandma was really caring. Its a bitter- sweet sensation, due the families stories due some ancient gangs.

Sounds wonderful despite the bittersweet family stories, but a place I have visited and did really enjoy!
