The premise behind this post type is to get an insight into the daily lives of the bands that we love! We have given them some situations to attribute a song to and let us know why that song in particular is perfect!

What is the perfect song for the gym?
The Mistakes were one of the bands we often played on one bill with back in our Hollywood days. Amazing high energy punk rock, perfect for sweating up! And they are super nice guys, too! With good punk rock values!
We actually reconnected with them lately and got two of them, their singer Todd and bass player Chris, to sing gang vocals on our song “The Streets are paved with Stars” which is a celebration of our time on the Sunset Strip as teenagers and of following your dreams.
What is your go to happy song, when you’re angry or sad?
Best lyrics if you need personal space: “Drop the leash, drop the leash, get out of my fucking face!!!!!!!!!!!”
The perfect song to put on while cooking?
Because you always wonder if it’s maybe time to drain the spaghetti already! But seriously, this song means a lot to us – it was through Sixx:A.M. that we reconnected with our inner rockers after our band hiatus.
This song is about dealing with all the pieces in your life – going back to being professional musicians to us felt like making ourselves whole again! And the beautiful thing is that we actually got to know their singer, James Michael, and that he ended up mixing our EP “Palm Trees Oh Yeah!” – amazing experience!
The song are you most proud of?
We are super proud of all of our songs, every song has its own compelling story. “Mustang (the voice of a wild horse)” really encompasses everything we are about:
Protest & Activism: The song raises awareness for the situation of the Mustangs in the United States, how they are kidnapped and imprisoned, deprived of their land and their freedom, abused for human entertainment in rodeos…
Education: Everytime we play the song, we briefly explain the story behind it, how it’s inspired by the stallion Kokopelli, who was almost killed in the rodeo industry, rescued, and now lives in a mustang sanctuary as lead stallion. The music video also tells his story.
Positivity: The story of Kokopelli is inspiring and powerful, a testament to the power of love and the resilience of a wild free spirit. These are values that empower our audience
Collaboration: We collaborated with Wild Heart Mustang Sanctuary in Utah, Kokopelli’s home, and with Chief Dull Knife College, Lame Deer, Montana, who kindly provided the Cherokee recording at the end of the song. And of course with James Michael, who delivered a world class mix!
Weirdness: We love pushing artistic boundaries. This song has a cinematic grandeur created by plastic recorders, and the vocals transcend species boundaries by including neighing.
Your all time favourite rock song?
Our first band Speed was a “RhythmN’ModPunkBlues” band and The Who were one of our important influences. Amazing song, amazing vocal. Great message, aligns with our values: LOVE is the fuckin answer!!
The perfect song to set the mood on a date?
Our roots go way back into the 50s. Not because we are that old, but because we started our musical journey listening to blues and rock’n’roll. It was the early 90’s, we were around 13, and pretended to live in the 50’s.
We bought 50’s furniture for our rooms and only took black and white photos of ourselves. This song is the most romantic song ever! And sounds don’t get more 50’s than this, it’s like a time machine.
A song by an amazing local band we might not know about?
Sam is a young local folk-grunge artist who is a very talented songwriter and has a really special voice. He actually lent some vocals to our anti-patriarchy anthem “Bite the Dust (if you’re an asshole)”. He’s an all around great artist – give him a listen! We think he totally has a bright future in music!
The perfect pre show song to amp you up?
We love Bang Tango! An amazing and completely underrated band! Kyle Kyle is a stellar bass player! Joe Leste is a super charismatic singer! They have a funky energy! And – they’re a badass rock band with lyrics that are in no way misogynist 🙂 People definitely need to be more aware of Bang Tango! This song just has this infectious, joyous high-energy you need to kick you into gear!
A great song you think Fox Reviews Rock won’t have heard before?
Mad Season was a bunch of jazz-grunge-blues-guys who came together in a fight to kick their personal demons out of their lives. Sadly, the outcome was underwhelming. But at least they fought – and that’s what we, as Nature Warriors, are all about, too: You can never know the outcome, but you always need to fight for a better future – if you don’t even fight, you already lost!
Also, Mad Season is an impressive example that music connects through space and time – these guys totally have the blues, it is irrelevant that they are white boys in the 90s. As they pour their fight and story into music, their blues is real.
