Soul-Stirring Hard Rock: Redlight King’s Best Albums & Influences

A fox holding a vinyl cd in a shop. There is a sign reading up and coming bands in the background and headings reading metal and rock in the foreground.

As always with my Tuesday up-and-coming bands posts , I focus on bands with under 500,000 monthly streams on Spotify, hopefully you discover new music along with me on this journey. I’ll be adding 3 songs from these weekly posts to my own Spotify Playlist.

Background Information

Redlight King, a band hailing from Canada and America, is famous for their soul-stirring tunes with powerful choruses. While they have recently incorporated hip hop and dance elements into their music, at their core, they remain a hard rock band. Fronted by Mark Kasprzyk, this Los Angeles-based group has put out four albums, with a significant gap between the second and third. Their music, often heard on the radio and in movie soundtracks, has been featured in major films like The Italian Job, Iron Man, and The Avengers! Not only that, but they also excel at covering songs – just listen to their amazing rendition of Rush’s “Working Man”!

Who Do They Sound Like?

Saint Asonia, Cavo & Flipsyde

Latest Album

Latest album released by the band is In Our Blood from 2023, which followed Moonshine , but my favourite by them is their debut album Something For The Pain. The bands on the upwards trajectory, it wont be long till they are back up to their very best.

From The Archives: Iron Maiden – Powerslave

The feature “From The Archives” revisits Iron Maiden’s influential 1984 album, highlighting its significance as the first with the same line-up and the band’s superstition regarding a ladder during recording. Notable tracks “Aces High” and “2 Minutes To Midnight” exemplify the album’s heavy metal prowess and sharp social commentary.

Guitar licks good, bass overworked a bit, drums decent, lead axe not in front enough and does not oveccome the bass. Vocal? Meh.
