As always with my Tuesday up-and-coming bands posts , I focus on bands with under 500,000 monthly streams on Spotify, hopefully you discover new music along with me on this journey. I’ll be adding 3 songs from these weekly posts to my own Spotify Playlist.
Background Information
Hannah Wicklund, the incredibly talented musician from South Carolina who now lives in Nashville, has just released her second album titled The Prize. The first thing that will captivate you is the mesmerizing tone of her voice, but once she starts playing the guitar, you’ll be blown away by the symphony of riffs and songs she creates. The Prize was produced by Sam Kiszka on bass and Daniel Wagner on drums, both of whom are also part of the band Greta Van Fleet. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you’re missing out on something truly exceptional! Hannah’s music exudes determination, power, and raw talent – anyone who says otherwise must be deaf. Having been on the road since she was 16, performing at various festivals, she has recently been touring with Greta Van Fleet. I have no doubt that her third album, whenever it may come, will be an instant hit!
Who Do They Sound Like?
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix
Latest Album
The Prize was released in 2024 and is fantastic! It follows Hannah Wicklund and the Stepping Stones , and the growth in sound is both noticable but also organic and not forced.
