This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Quicksand – Cool Guy.
This song has one hell of an opening riff and drum combo! It’s got a dark flavour to it, but never goes too far. A foot tapping, head nodding monster. This is what I would image a heavier Oasis to sound like.
Metal
Motionless In White – R.I.P.
Working with Skylar Grey on this track was a fantastic idea she has a heavenly voice! Motionless in White are a band I NEED to see soon. I adore their song crafting, slight cheesey nature and massive vocals and riffs. This goes straight to number one because of the chorus and the instrumentals that surround it like a warm hug.
Metalcore
Beartooth – Bullshit.
Firstly I want to say on behalf of the website that we support you Caleb, we fully support you on your recent life changes. Secondly boy oh boy do I LOVE this band. This heaviness of the instruments while he is singing just add to the crunch when he fully lets go into screams. If you want a band with amazing choruses then this is for you.
Punk
Echo Belle – I Hate Myself (Let’s Go To Bed).
I love the drums and slappy bass on this. The vocals are tongue in cheek, but for a punk song really work. It’s got that classic new age punky sound going for it. Aussies support this artist!
Pop Punk
44nope – Lemon Drop.
Refreshing, unknown and great accent on vocals! Pop punk can sound the same all the time, thankfully the Italians have managed to produce something that sounds different. Seriously only 200 monthly listeners this needs to change. IT’S JUST A LEMON DROP!
Alternative
Tigress – White Rabbit.
The UK based band have this knack of forming a song really well! The female vocals get me every damn time too. They have a splashing of bite and punch in the riffs and drums as well. PS the chorus is catchy, you have been warned.
Indie
Stil Life – Feels Like Nothing.
The song opens with massive riffs, while the bass and drums have this underbelly to them that make the song feel bigger than normal for an indie song! Sure their band name annoys me, just add another l to Stil…
