This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Royal Tusk – THOUGHTLEADER.
The start of this song is insanely good! Riff is a straight 10/10. When the voice hits, it isn’t quite what I was expecting, but after a couple more listens I think it fits well. The chorus is a little heavier and that is a real highlight.
Metal
SIMHAE – Fading (Am I?).
I love how gritty this is, the bass is turned up to the max! I think in general this song is a little out there so people are either going to love it or be confused. Let me know where you end up.
Metalcore
Seven Blood – Burst In Flames.
Friends of the site Seven Blood have released yet another brilliant song. I am impressed at how they continue to switch up their styling. The drums and bass are especially good here. Vocally as always on the money. Just wish they highlighted the guitar a bit more.
Punk
Bad Nerves – NETWORK.
Punk needs to be fast paced, and this is about as quick as you get… I would not want to be their drummer that much is for sure. They have a cheeky side to them too, I will keep an eye on the Essex based band in the future.
Pop Punk
Underbrook – Settle.
Pop Punk really is getting intertwined with Emo and I am down for that. The uplifting instrumentals mixed with slightly self damaging lyrics creates an audio confusion. Guitar is the star for me on this one.
Alternative
Shotgun Paradise – Don’t Say My Name.
The vocals on this are immense, even with the obvious after vocal effects they have added! As a band they will appeal to fans of Breaking Benjamin the most I would say. The structure their songs the same.
Indie
LAYBYS – SLIP AWAY.
What a way to introduce yourself to a new audience! Consider myself a big fan of these guys now. The guitar riff that runs through is top notch and the drums are really well done. Add this to your summer indie playlist.
