Mica: This week’s Indiestry Amplified Pick is Yaang and their new single, Horsepower Is God, which was released on August 18th.

Yaang are a trio from Manchester, featuring Davey Moore (vocals/sampler), Oliver Duffy (guitars/vocals), and Ben White on bass.

Yaang were featured in the NME 100 during 2025 and were described as “one of the most exciting bands to come from the North West.”

Horsepower Is God is like a tornado of fresh air on first listen. I love the slow, atmospheric build of the song and its dramatic switch-up into the heavier punk moments. Yaang weave a magical blend of punk, art-rock, and sweet beats on this record, and I’m very intrigued to hear more!
