How did you come up with the bands name?
We are Beyond The Abyss. The band was formed out of my solo project in 2024. my friend Max played the drums on the latest EP Beyond and we wanted to bring it to the stages. The name was an homage to the our title track Beyond, in which I address “The ones beyond”. So the band name is referring to the lost souls in the abyss. We are the Ones from Beyond the Abyss.

Beyond EP (05.04.2024)
Building upon everything they accomplished with previous releases, the EP features a more expansive and epic path but even darker in tone. The title track is a sprawling example of the progressive structures in the EP, built with heavy, metal based riffs that collide with a somber, Gothic atmosphere. Songs like Conscious and Build The Character stand out as more bombastic songs with emotional orchestral layers.
The Song build the character is written as a rhapsody but is easily accessible for prog beginners. The music and lyrics are driven by thoughts of doubt and the difficulty of finding oneself among the daily routines of life.
What are the three songs you would recommend to new listeners?
This song has it all the latest EP stands for. It’s kind of hymn like at times. Big arrangements, time signature changes, heavy guitar riffs, melancholic piano parts and one of our favourite songs to play on stage.
This song is great musical journey in which you must overcome the challenges and choose your own path in life. In the end the song modulates into a higher key to symbolise an uplifting future.
The song which started Beyond The Abyss. It tells the story of a medium who can find tortured souls trapped in the beyond and set them free. The song has great energy, is easy digestible for prog beginners and has that gothic vibe to it. if you play close attention in the late bridge you might hear some souls from the beyond speaking to you.
When can we expect some new music?
New Music is basically on the way and planned for autumn. One Single with even more prog attributes. Bigger Orchestral arrangements and a damn catchy hook.
Who would be your dream collaboration?
Dream collaboration would be Noora Louhimo (Ex-Battle Beast) because she literally a vocal Beast. The expression in her voice Is soo good and would perfectly fit for some of the roles in future songs im imagining. Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel) is my favourite guttural vocalist. With him on board our heavy song parts would be even more devastating and brutal!

What is the bands goal for the next 12 months?
In 12 month we would love to have played some festivals and maybe our first tour with our new release and are working on the new project. A new concept album.
